The Floor Wright exists to answer real questions accurately. This page explains how we choose topics, research them, and correct ourselves when we get something wrong.
How we choose topics
We write about the specific questions people actually search for — the practical, 'how do I…' and 'what does it cost to…' problems — and we prioritise gaps where the existing answers are thin, outdated, or vague. We do not publish filler to chase volume.
How we research
We check installation claims against the actual product's spec sheet and manufacturer install guide, cross-reference moisture and flatness guidance with the relevant ASTM test standards, and won't publish a durability or waterproof claim we can't trace back to a specific product's own documentation.
Accuracy and sources
We aim for concrete, verifiable detail — real numbers, real steps — and we cite or link the sources behind any figure or claim a reader might want to check. Costs and product details change, so we date our guides and note when they were last updated.
Corrections
We take corrections seriously. If you spot an error, tell us and we will verify it, fix the guide, and note the change. We are glad to credit the reader who flagged it. Report an error at contact@thefloorwright.com.
Who writes and reviews our guides
Our guides are written and reviewed by Marcus Reed, drawing on hands-on experience. A person reads every guide before it is published — nothing goes live unreviewed.
